ABC World News Tonight has a special series on the jobless in America.
Tonight, Wednesday, July 23 they will have an interview with Michael
Emmons. Hopefully they will let him throw in a few words about L-1
visas. Mike wrote the following editorial for this newsletter.

Our Story, Replaced by foreigners on work visas; in Lake Mary, FL

Wednesday July 23, 2003 ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings
reports our job replacement story:

As one of 20 Americans that were mandated by Siemens management to
train our foreign replacement workers, I was not happy. I thought for
sure contacting our Representative and 2 Senators would definitely get
us help. It has now been over 11 months since our first contact with
FL Rep. John L. Mica(R). Rep. John Mica called me at my home in late
Sept 2002 stating he would help his constituents; his constituents that
were losing their jobs to Tata Consulting India employees, holders of
congressionally sanctioned H-1b and L-1 "intra-company transfer" work
visas.

Why did Rep. Mica call me? Because it just happened to be election
time and I had passed out 60 flyers in my neighborhood. With just 60
flyers, I got a hit! One man that had a huge Mica sign on his
business property wrote me a letter and CC'ed Rep Mica. That letter
stated that he was not happy with Rep. Mica either, because his son
lost his job after he trained his Indian replacement worker at GE
Capital. The night I got the letter Rep. Mica called me; at my home.
We spoke for over 1 hour. He assured me that he would help his
constituents. Thus, I did not contact his competition, Democrat
Wayne Hogan, an Attorney who recently won $200 million for himself in
cigarette lawsuits. I believe John Mica was concerned for his
livelihood. But, since he said he would help us I supported him, I
even voted for him. Months and months go by without any support. It is
very clear to me why he called; to shut us up so he could get
re-elected. Shame on me for voting for him, but what was I to expect.

On 8/15/2002 we contacted Rep Mica, 20 days later and for the next 3
months his office was in direct contact with Siemens. He was cashing
more campaign contributions from Siemens;

Our 2 Democratic Senators Bob Graham and Bill Nelson were of no help
either. Replacement of American workers is bipartisan and epidemic.
In my opinion and the opinion of Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo,
Republicans want cheap labor for their corporations and democrats want
a larger pool of potential voters.

With all that said, I came to the conclusion that contacting your
elected officials is not working so I approached the media. For the
past 9 months I have actively pursued telling our story to the media.

Tonight, July 23, 2003 on ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings we
will tell our story of replacement. Our story of Siemens ICN Lake
Mary, FL mandating their American workers to train foreign replacement
workers, Tate Consulting India employees, H-1b and
L-1 visa holders.

We will not stop until all of America knows about the devastating greed
of our Congress and how it is ripping apart American families one by
one.
