Someone circulated a bogus email to that looks just like an official USCIS
press release stating that the H-1B cap has already been reached for the
fiscal year 2007. The USCIS claims that the email is bogus and that there
are still H-1B visas left for the taking.
The USCIS press release can be viewed by clicking on this link:

No news yet on who created this hoax, so I'll take the liberties of
speculating on who might have done this. Here are a few to ponder, and I'm
sure there are many more.
1) Shills did this to "prove" the need for more H-1B visas. If it was the
shills they have been quite successful because every major newspaper is
running idiotorials that the U.S. is facing financial ruin because the H-1B
visa cap is too low. Chalk up one for the shills if this is the case!
2) Companies who want to hoard H-1B visas created the spoof to discourage
other employers to file for visas. This one is unlikely because the
immigration attorneys they hire wouldn't be fooled.
3) Someone who hates H-1B wanted to sabotage companies who use H-1Bs. If
this is the case, it didn't work. Whoever you are, better luck next time,
and don't get caught because those immigration lawyers will go after you
like a bunch of mad killer bees!
4) Someone at USCIS accidently sent out an email with the truth or it was a
leak. Filing for FY2007 began on April 1, so could it be that all the H-1B
visas have already been taken?
>>><<< If any of you out there have a copy of the bogus email, please
forward it to me. Any other information on this subject would be
appreciated.
